August 7, 2009 - Panthers in Georgia
The recent confirmation that a cougar shot and killed in Troup County, Georgia on U.S. Army Corps of Engineer land at West Point Lake, south of Hwy. 109 near La Grange should not alarm anyone. (see Related Articles below) Why? Because cougars are not man-eaters. Why? Because we don’t taste good to a cougar.

March 15, 2009 - Volunteers Wanted --
"Want to have some fun this summer conducting tours of the sanctuary and helping to feed and care for the animals? Join our Wildlife Volunteers! You will attend a one-day training program, where you will learn what it takes to conduct a tour, keep our visitors safe, what to say as you show them the animals, and sign up for Family Fun Day Tour Guides." more

March 10, 2009 -Family Fun Days Every Sunday --

March 3, 2009 -Baby Bear Cubs --
" One recent blustery night, the winds howled across the North Georgia mountains and an old white pine tree, dead from age, groaned. Nestled nearby was a mother black bear and her two cubs, seemingly safe from the chill winds." more

September 23, 2008 - Ellijay Wildlife Sanctuary Barely Hangs On --
"The Wildlife Sanctuary located in Ellijay is the largest facility in Georgia able to care for orphaned, injured or abandoned panthers, cougars, black bears, deer, raccoon, skunk, fox, ferrets, squirrels, opossums, and other indigenous wild animals." more
