Animal Sanctuary in Danger of Closing

A sanctuary in the north Georgia mountains near Ellijay home to orphaned animals is in danger of shutting down due to a lack of donations.

The sanctuary is home to, among other things, bears, lynx and cougars. For a small fee, visitors get wildlife tours and lectures from Craig Cylke and his wife, who run the sanctuary.

Craig Cylke and his wife have not drawn a salary in six months and donations have dried up to a trickle because of the economy.

There is just enough money to have purchase two tons of meat and a ton of dry food for the animals each month.

If things do not soon improve, Cylke and his wife will have to shut down the sanctuary and the animals will have to be euthanized.
