News: Every sunday is family fun day

Beginning May 31st, every Sunday is Family Fun Day from 12:00 noon until 4 P.M.  Hiking tours traverse the sanctuary beginning at noon. Come and see some of North America's most beautiful wildlife at The Wildlife Sanctuary in Ellijay, GA.  A walking tour of animal habitats, including cougars, bears, lynx, deer, birds of prey, and reptiles is followed by a wildlife presentation at the Sanctuary's outdoor amphitheatre.  Conducted by Grizzly, a wildlife educator and rehabilitation specialist for over 30 years, you will learn fascinating facts and folk lore about North America's Wildlife.  You will also be able to see the most endangered cat in the world, the Eastern Panther.  Learn about the Sanctuary's efforts to save injured or abandoned animals, including this rare cougar subspecies.

Bring comfortable shoes - the sanctuary covers many hills and dales where the non-releasable animals reside.  Tours are limited to 15 people, so call ahead if you want to make group arrangements.  Otherwise, you can join any group as they leave on the hour at 12, 1, 2 and 3.  $7.50 per person.  Guided tours only - there is no free roaming through the sanctuary.
